The Murané pendant light is a small sphere of amber glass, 10cm across, hung on a fine cable from a cap in a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a gently rippled, dimpled surface that catches the light. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, faces and fabrics looking true to colour, and it draws 2.7W or 4W depending on the version. The cable allows a drop of up to 300cm, and the canopy is 5.5cm across and 13cm tall.

At 10cm, a single sphere makes a soft accent over a side table or in a reading corner of a living room, while several hung at different heights over a dining table form a cluster of warm points of light. It comes in two canopy versions: with canopy, for a pendant on its own, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately), where several spheres share one fitting on the ceiling. Choose the first for a single drop and the second for a group. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, which suits a dining room or living room.

It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. The 24V DC version needs a remote 24V DC driver, which is not included and is sold separately: it converts the mains supply to the low voltage that version runs on, and the pendant will not light without it. The shade is amber glass and the cap is in a Brushed Champagne finish, a soft, pale tone that sits easily with warm woods and stone. Before you order a cluster, settle the canopy version first, because it decides how each pendant meets the ceiling.
