Description

The Murané is a glass sphere pendant light, 18cm across, in Forest Green glass with a Brushed Champagne finish. The glass has a rippled, dimpled surface that catches and bends the light, so the sphere looks softly textured rather than plain, and the deep green glows when it is lit. Inside sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, faces and furnishings looking true to colour, and it draws 2.7W or 4W depending on the version.

We like it over a dining table or in a living room, where its gentle output gives a soft, warm glow rather than bright task light. It comes in two versions: with canopy, for hanging it on its own, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies, which are sold separately and let you hang several spheres together. The canopy is 5.5cm across and 13cm tall, and the drop reaches up to 300cm, so it sits as comfortably under a tall ceiling as a standard one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by an electrician, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The 24V DC version needs one extra part: a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately and not included, which supplies its power; that version will not work without it. Before ordering, decide whether your pendant hangs alone or from a multi-pendant canopy, as that settles which canopy version to choose.
