Description

The Murané pendant light is a 15cm sphere of caramel glass, hung from a slim cap in a brushed champagne finish. The glass has a rippled surface that breaks up the light as it passes through, so the whole sphere glows a warm caramel when it is lit. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 167lm of warm white light at 2700K with a CRI of 90, which keeps skin tones, wood and fabrics looking true. Its LED is 2.7W or 4W, depending on the version.

We think it sits best over a dining table or in a living room. One sphere gives a soft, warm glow, and several hung at different heights make a lively cluster over a table. It hangs on a drop of up to 300cm, so you can set it low and close or higher in a room with a tall ceiling. It comes in two versions: with canopy, or without canopy, for multi-pendant canopies (sold separately). The version with canopy has its own canopy for a single pendant, 5.5cm across and 13cm tall. The version without canopy is for grouping several spheres from one shared canopy. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The cap is finished in brushed champagne, a soft metallic tone that sits easily beside the caramel glass. The pendant runs on mains power at 230V and is wired in by a qualified electrician. The low-voltage version needs a remote driver to power its LED. The driver is not included and is sold separately, so plan for it if you choose that version. Settle on the version with canopy or the one without before your electrician starts, as it shapes what goes on the ceiling.
