Description

Three candlesticks in one set, each a different height. Every one stands on a domed round base ringed with two rows of raised beads, and carries a trumpet-shaped cup with a wide flat rim to catch the wax and a socket for a dinner candle. The shortest sets its cup almost straight on the base, the middle one has a short tapered stem and the tallest a long straight one. The finish is a granular aged zinc, pale grey with rust brown breaking through it, and the taller the candlestick the wider its base.

Three heights in one set puts the flames at three levels rather than one, and they stand in a line along a table. They are suitable for outdoor use as well as indoors, so the same row will go on a garden table. Each cup holds a standard dinner candle.

The metal is aluminium, poured into a mould and set by hand, with the aged zinc applied afterwards, so the mottling falls differently on each of the three. Aged zinc goes on oxidising in the air, so the surface keeps moving away from the state it arrives in. Three are supplied. The candles are not included.

Frequently Asked

How many are in the set?

Three, each a different height.

What candle do they take?

A dinner candle, in the socket at the top of each cup.

Can they go outside?

Yes. They are suitable for outdoor use.

What are they made of?

Aluminium, poured into a mould and set by hand, under an aged zinc finish.

How do I look after them?

In time the finish adapts to its surroundings and oxidises further. It can transfer to the surface of a patio or a table, so putting something under the bases is worth doing.
