Description

Four flat iron trees, each 13cm tall and 7cm across, cut by hand and finished in antique brass. The branches step out and back in down the silhouette to a short trunk, and the finish is mottled rather than flat, pale where the face is raised and darker where it has settled. Each tree hangs from a knotted sari tie, and the four in a set are not all cut from the same fabric: some are a plain deep red and some are printed in orange and red.

At 13cm a single tree reads on its own at the front of a branch rather than needing the other three beside it, and the flat profile keeps it against the branch instead of swinging clear. The cut edges take the light and the faces stay matt. Four will space around a small tree, run along a garland or hang from the knobs of a dresser.

Every tree is cut by hand from iron and given an antique brass effect, so the mottling falls differently on each one. The ties are reclaimed sari fabric, so the four that arrive will not carry the patterns shown. Mishti also runs at 8.5cm, four to a set.
