Description

The Mirage is a 64x46cm oval wall mirror set in a white polyurethane frame moulded with high-relief floral and ribbon motifs around the perimeter. The frame projects 4cm from the wall and curves around the glass in an asymmetrical baroque-inspired pattern, with acanthus leaf scrollwork at the top crest and rose clusters flanking each side of the oval aperture.

Designed for portrait orientation, the mirror suits above-dressing-table positions in bedrooms, hallway console arrangements, and powder room installations where a decorative rather than full-length reflection is needed. The white finish works as a neutral backdrop that pairs with both warm cream walls and cooler greys, and the frame's high relief creates subtle shadow play under natural and artificial light without needing colour contrast to read clearly.

The polyurethane construction keeps the 2.4kg weight manageable for plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings, while the moulded detail replicates the depth and texture of carved wood or plaster at a fraction of the cost and weight. Can this mirror be hung landscape as well as portrait?

The frame is designed for portrait orientation with the main crest detail at the top. It can technically be rotated landscape, but the asymmetrical floral placement will look off-balance when turned.

What fixings are needed for a plasterboard wall?

At 2.4kg, the mirror requires two secure wall fixings. Use plasterboard anchors rated to at least 5kg each, or locate wall studs and screw directly into timber. The mirror has rear hanging brackets or D-rings.

Is the white finish paintable?

Polyurethane accepts paint well if lightly sanded first. Use a primer designed for plastics, then finish with eggshell or satin emulsion. Gloss paint can highlight any surface imperfections in the moulding.

How is the frame cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust from the relief detail. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with plain water. Avoid harsh cleaners, bleach or solvent-based products that can discolour or damage the polyurethane surface.
