This storage jar is shaped like a birthday cake, and it is the kind of piece that makes people smile before they have even lifted the lid. The lid is the top of the cake, with icing that drips over the edge, raised strawberries set around the rim and a striped candle standing in the middle that doubles as the handle. The body is banded like layers of sponge and filling, with a wavy piped line around it and a row of polka dots. Around the candle, the top is scattered with painted dots like sprinkles. It is made of 100% stoneware, multicoloured and painted by hand, 14.5cm across and 17.5cm tall, and it holds 800ml.
