Mila Wine Glasses - Dark Emerald - Set of 4

A set of four wine glasses in a dark, smoky emerald, each 19.5cm tall on a broad conical foot and holding 375ml. The bowl is tall and barely tapered, and round it run two bands of moulded relief, each a row of narrow pointed ovals standing proud between fine vertical lines, with a raised ring dividing the two. Below the bands the bowl is left plain and rounds down into a short stem. The stem and the foot carry the same green as the bowl, and the thicker glass reads darker than the thin.

375ml is a full sized wine glass rather than a small one, and at 19.5cm these stand tall on a table. The moulded bands sit around the middle of the bowl, at the height a hand takes hold of it. In a row on a brass topped sideboard the green goes deep and the relief picks up the light along the top edge of each band. Against a pale ground the same glass reads much greyer, closer to smoke than to emerald.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is melted down and blown or moulded again, so the depth of the emerald and the crispness of the relief vary a little from glass to glass. The Mila range also holds tumblers, champagne glasses, gin glasses and a decanter, in this dark emerald and in clear.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes.

Is the glass recycled?

Yes. The waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is hand blown or placed in moulds.

Will all four look the same?

Not quite. The depth of the emerald and the crispness of the moulded bands vary a little from one glass to the next.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use to prevent staining, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them with care.
