Mila Coupe Champagne Glasses - Clear - Set of 4

A set of four champagne coupes in clear recycled glass, each 17cm tall and 10.5cm across. The bowl is wide and shallow, carried on a long plain stem and a broad flared foot. Two rows of pointed oval marks are etched into the upper bowl, the upper row longer than the lower with a plain band between them, and the glass below is left untouched. Against clear glass those ovals read soft and matt where the rest of the bowl is bright. The etching is done by hand.

The set holds four coupes, each bowl taking 300ml. At 17cm they stand lower than a flute, so they sit below the eye line across a laid table, and four of them line along a sideboard. The Mila range also runs to tumblers, wine glasses, gin glasses and a decanter, made in this clear and in a dark emerald.

The glass is recycled, and it is a pale glass rather than a colourless one: a faint grey green runs through it, strongest at the foot and where the bowl meets the stem. Fine bubbles are caught along the length of the stem. They are food safe and dishwasher safe.

Is the pattern etched or moulded?

Etched, and the etching is done by hand, so the ovals are not identical from glass to glass.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes. The care advice is to wash them after every use so they do not stain, using a mild detergent, and not to leave them to soak.
