The plate measures 82mm high by 142mm wide with a 4mm projection from the wall once installed, matching the profile of other metal clad fittings in the Knightsbridge range.

Used in industrial, commercial and domestic installations where metal clad wiring is preferred for durability or regulation compliance, the blanking plate hides back boxes that have been disconnected or are no longer required, maintaining a clean finish across trunking runs and switch banks. The two mounting holes align with standard 2-gang metal clad back box fixing centres.

The powder-coated steel construction provides corrosion resistance and impact durability beyond plastic blanking plates, making it suitable for workshops, plant rooms, garages and outdoor-rated enclosures where IP20 protection is sufficient. It's commonly used when rewiring has made a previous outlet position redundant, or when a back box has been installed for future use.

Does this fit standard metal clad back boxes?

Yes. The M8600 fits standard 2-gang metal clad back boxes with 82x142mm face dimensions and standard fixing centres. It uses two screws (not included) to mount to the back box lugs.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The IP20 rating means it's suitable for dry or sheltered outdoor locations such as covered garages or plant rooms, but not for direct weather exposure. For fully outdoor installations an IP65 or higher rated enclosure is required.
