The Knightsbridge M8500 is a 1-gang metal clad blanking plate built from premium-grade steel with a powder-coated silver-grey finish. The plate covers unused or redundant metal clad back boxes where circuits have been removed or where future outlets were originally planned but not installed. The 82x82mm footprint matches standard 1-gang metal clad box dimensions, and the 4mm projection sits flush with typical metal clad switch and socket installations.

Designed for workshops, garages, industrial units, agricultural buildings and outdoor installations where metal clad wiring systems are used, the blanking plate provides a safe, finished cover over empty back boxes. The powder-coated steel construction resists corrosion and impact better than plastic alternatives, making it suitable for environments where tools, equipment or vehicles might contact the wall surface. The IP20 rating means the plate is suitable for dry indoor locations but not for outdoor exposure or areas subject to direct water ingress.

The plate fixes to the metal clad box using two screws through the fixing holes visible in the corners. The steel construction provides earthing continuity through the mounting screws when fitted to an earthed metal back box, though the plate itself does not carry a dedicated earth terminal.
