Description

The Mercury AMD04 is a 4-way VHF/UHF distribution amplifier with separate inputs for VHF (47-230MHz) and UHF (470-694MHz) signals, an integrated LTE filter to block 5G/4G mobile interference, and DC pass capability for satellite control via Magic Eye systems. The unit provides four split outputs at 8dB gain each, plus one full gain output at 20dB, allowing simultaneous distribution to four TVs or radio receivers with a fifth full-strength feed for further distribution or signal analysis.

Designed for multi-room residential installations, holiday lets, care homes and small commercial premises requiring stable terrestrial TV and radio distribution, the AMD04 amplifies incoming aerial signals and splits them without the degradation that passive splitters introduce. The wideband low-noise amplifier maintains consistent signal quality across all outputs, while 22dB isolation between outputs prevents one receiver from affecting another. The LTE filter cuts mobile phone mast interference that can disrupt digital TV reception in areas with strong 4G/5G coverage.

The black metal enclosure measures 180 x 70 x 45mm and mounts via side terminals for wall or cabinet installation. All connections are coaxial sockets with F-type adaptors supplied for standard coax plugs. The DC pass allows satellite dish LNB power and control signals to pass through the amplifier when using combined terrestrial and satellite setups. Surge protection and short-circuit limiting prevent damage from lightning strikes or wiring faults. The unit runs on 230V AC mains via a 1m attached power lead.

Frequently Asked

What does the LTE filter do?

The integrated LTE filter blocks 4G and 5G mobile phone signals that can interfere with digital TV reception. In areas with strong mobile mast coverage, these signals can cause picture freezing or complete loss of certain TV channels. The filter removes this interference before amplification.

Can I use this with a satellite dish and aerial together?

Yes. The DC pass allows LNB power and control signals from a satellite receiver to pass through the amplifier to the dish via the aerial cable. This is useful in combined terrestrial/satellite setups where Magic Eye remote extenders are used.

What's the difference between the split outputs and the full gain output?

The four split outputs each provide 8dB gain and are intended for connecting TVs or radios directly. The fifth full gain output provides 20dB and can be used for a further amplifier or splitter in larger installations, or for a primary TV that needs maximum signal strength.

How is the unit installed?

The AMD04 mounts via side terminals on the enclosure, allowing it to be screwed to a wall, inside a cabinet, or onto a board in a plant room. All connections are coaxial sockets — VHF and UHF inputs on one side, five outputs on the other. F-type adaptors are supplied for standard coax plugs. The 1m power lead connects to a standard 230V mains socket.
