Description

The Menmai is a square cushion cover, 50cm by 50cm and 1cm deep flat, cut from cotton velvet in a soft eucalyptus green. The reverse is natural linen, so the two faces differ in texture as well as in weight. A flange edge runs around the outside, left relaxed rather than pressed sharp. The green is a muted one rather than a bright dye.

At 50cm square it goes on a sofa, into an armchair or against the pillows on a bed, and it is made to layer with other cushions rather than to sit on its own. Eucalyptus reads as a near-neutral beside cream, natural linen and wood, so it brings colour into a scheme without setting its direction. The square is made in four colours, so a pair or a run of them can be set together.

The face is cotton velvet and the reverse is natural linen, and the cover weighs 0.32kg. Eucalyptus is one of the four colours the square is made in, alongside dusty pink, cinnamon and red, and the same green is made up in the longer lumbar shape as well.

Frequently Asked

What size is it?

50cm by 50cm.

What is the reverse made from?

Natural linen, against a cotton velvet face.

How should the velvet be cleaned?

Spot clean only. Lift the liquid first with an absorbent tissue, then blot the area with a sponge or a folded towel moistened in lukewarm water. Blowing warm air across the surface from a hair dryer as it dries helps avoid a water mark. Anything larger or more stubborn should go to a professional.

Will the colour fade?

Every cushion cover and throw in the range is tested for colourfastness.

What other colours is the square made in?

Dusty pink, cinnamon and red.
