Description

A long lumbar cushion cover, 80cm wide and 35cm deep, cut from cotton velvet in a deep cinnamon. A flat flange border runs right round all four sides, so the seam sits in from the edge and the fabric lies loose beyond it rather than finishing at a hard line. The reverse is natural linen. This is the cover on its own, without a pad.

At 80 by 35cm it lies along the back of a sofa or across the head of a bed rather than propping up a corner, and 35cm is deep enough to fill the small of a back against a deep seat. The velvet has a short pile, so it reads as a lighter cinnamon where the nap lies one way and a darker one where it lies the other, and over a length like this both tones show at once.

The face is cotton velvet and the reverse is natural linen. Menmai is made in this 35 by 80cm lumbar size in cream, eucalyptus and dusty pink as well as this cinnamon, and as a 50 by 50cm square in cinnamon, red, eucalyptus and dusty pink. The pad is not included.
