Description

This is a pair of stoneware bookends, and rather than the usual flat slab, each one is a curl of clay that rolls round into an open, hollow form. The glaze is the other thing that sets them apart: a glossy, lighter blue band runs round the top and drips down into a speckled, deeper blue towards the base, so the finish looks layered rather than flat.
