Description

The Mediterrània PF/105 is a ceiling light built around one wide, wavy shade in Cream Translucent Ribbon, which rises and dips around a single central light like a sail lifting in the wind. It is 105cm across and 26cm tall, held close to the ceiling on a short white stem and a round canopy 12cm across and 5cm tall. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 17.1W gives 1523 lumens of warm 2700K white, and a CRI of 90 keeps colours, wood and skin tones looking natural.

At 105cm across, this is a light for a generous room: a living room, a large bedroom or an open-plan dining space, where the sweep of the shade can be seen from every side. Because it is only 26cm tall, it suits rooms where a hanging pendant would feel too low, and the Cream Translucent Ribbon shade spreads a soft, even glow rather than a hard pool of light. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can bring it down for a quiet evening and up again for reading or dinner. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

Its materials are iron and aluminium, with a white structure, and the Cream Translucent Ribbon shade is pleated in fine lines that radiate out from the centre, catching the light along every fold. The design is by Alex Fernández Camps. It is a Class I fitting for 230V, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. Before you order, measure the room: at 105cm across it needs clear space around it, and it looks best centred on the ceiling, where nothing crowds the curve of the ribbon.
