Description

A square cushion cover 50 x 50cm, handwoven from linen with a little cotton in it. The ground is a pale natural with the weave left open enough to see, and across it runs a grid of fine black lines stitched by hand: horizontals at close intervals crossed by a few verticals, so the grid comes out uneven rather than ruled. The edge is a plain seam.

Fifty centimetres square is the standard size for a sofa back, and the stitched grid is what carries this one. At arm reach it reads as a texture, and from the other side of a room as a plain natural cover. On a pale or neutral sofa the black lines are the only dark marking on the cover. Inners are sold separately.

The cover is handwoven from linen with a touch of cotton. Because the lines are stitched rather than printed they sit slightly proud of the ground. Mayla also runs as a 60 x 40cm rectangle, in olive green at this same size, and as a 140 x 200cm throw.
