Description
A slim iron candle holder 18cm tall on a flat disc foot 8cm across. The stem tapers up from the foot to a rounded bead about two thirds of the way, then narrows again and opens into a straight-sided cup that takes a dinner candle. The surface is pitted and granular the whole way up, and the rust finish sits dark red-brown, deeper in the hollows than on the raised edges. The edge of the foot is left uneven rather than turned true.
This is the smallest of three Mawindi heights, and all three in a row step the flames up from 18cm to 26cm to 30cm. On its own, 18cm puts the flame just above a laid table without interrupting a sightline across it, and an 8cm foot is broad for that height, which keeps it steady on an uneven surface. It can be used indoors and outdoors.
The whole piece is iron under a muted rust finish, left rough rather than smoothed, so the tone varies along the stem and from one holder to the next. Mawindi runs at 18cm, 26cm and 30cm, and the three group together rather than standing singly. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked
What candle does it take?
A dinner candle, standing in the cup at the top.
How tall is it?
18cm, on a foot 8cm across. Mawindi also runs at 26cm and 30cm.
Why is the surface rough?
The iron is left textured rather than smoothed and then finished in a muted rust tone, so the surface is granular and the colour varies across it.
Can it go outside?
Yes. It can be used indoors and outdoors.
How do I look after it?
Wash it with a mild dish soap and warm water after each use so wax does not build up, and keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the finish.
Does it get hot in use?
Yes. Position the candle securely, keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
