Description
The Matia is a 30cm tall LED bollard light built around a dark grey powder-coated metal frame with a frosted opal glass diffuser panel set into a recessed channel. An integrated 18W LED runs at 3000K colour temperature, casting 460 lumens of warm white light through the glass panel and onto the ground and adjacent surfaces. The IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the bollard suitable for year-round outdoor installation in gardens, patios, and commercial landscapes.
Designed for pathway lighting, patio borders, and low-level accent lighting around pools, terraces, and retaining walls, the Matia sits below typical bollard height to avoid obstructing sight lines while still providing functional ground-level illumination. The 17cm width and 8cm depth give the fitting a vertical rectangular profile that suits contemporary and minimalist outdoor schemes. The dark grey finish blends with stone, concrete, and slate paving during the day and recedes into the background once the LED is lit at dusk.
The frosted opal glass diffuses the LED evenly across the panel, avoiding visible hot spots or glare. The 30cm height positions the light source close to the ground, which reduces upward light spill and keeps the focus on path illumination rather than ambient wash. The powder-coated metal frame resists corrosion in wet and coastal environments. At 2.51kg, the bollard is substantial enough to remain stable once installed but light enough for single-person handling during fitting.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the bollard is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can handle rain, garden hose spray, and poolside splashing without internal water ingress. It is not submersible.
How is the Matia installed?
The bollard requires a mains electrical connection buried in conduit beneath the installation point. The base is fixed to a concrete pad or paving slab using the mounting points on the underside. See the Assembly Instruction PDF in the Downloads tab for full fitting guidance.
Can the LED be replaced?
The 18W LED is integrated and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of operation, typically outlasting the fixture itself in residential use.
What height is best for pathway lighting?
The 30cm height is lower than traditional 60-90cm bollards, which positions the light source closer to the ground and reduces light spill onto plants, walls, and windows. This makes it well-suited to close-spaced path lighting where the bollards are installed every 2-3m along the route.
