Description

The Marlgrove medium table lamp stands 560mm tall under a 400mm shade of Tiffany-style leaded glass, a balance of height and width that suits most side tables without crowding them. Two E27 lampholders sit within the shade, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, so the glass is lit evenly rather than from a single point. The lamp weighs 3.3kg and bulbs are not included, which lets you choose a warm white for evening light or something crisper for reading.

This is the size of table lamp that works almost anywhere: a side table beside an armchair, a sideboard, a hall table, a desk corner, or a wide bedside table where you want colour as well as light. Two lampholders give a broader pool than a single bulb, so it lights a corner properly rather than just marking it. The multicoloured glass casts warm colour onto the wall behind it and suits period rooms and plain modern schemes alike. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The shade is built from small pieces of coloured glass set into soldered metal seams on a metal frame, mounted above a metal base. It is a Class 2 fitting and is not dimmable, so it runs at full output. Dust the shade with a dry soft cloth, lift any marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, keeping sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams, and wipe the base with a dry cloth only.
