Description
We stock the Maris alabaster wall light in gold as a soft, ambient fitting for indoor walls. A curved natural alabaster shade sits over a rounded gold-tone metal backplate, and behind the stone is a single G9 socket that takes a capsule bulb up to 5W (sold separately). The alabaster is carved with a rippled surface, so the light catches across the facets and gives gentle variation in brightness and shadow as the stone glows.
We like the Maris for hallways, living room accent walls and bedrooms, anywhere you want a warm wash of light rather than bright task lighting. The gold finish leans towards a satin, brushed tone rather than high-polish brass, which softens reflections and sits comfortably with warm wood, terracotta, ochre and neutral interiors. Each alabaster shade shows its own mineral veining and tonal shifts from pale cream through amber to soft grey-brown at the edges, so no two pieces look exactly the same.
The fitting runs on 220-240V AC 50Hz mains and is rated IP20, so it is made for dry indoor rooms and should be kept away from bathrooms and outdoor exposure. It is not dimmable. The single G9 socket accepts LED capsule bulbs, and we would suggest a warm white 2700K to 3000K bulb for that ambient glow, or a cooler daylight bulb if you prefer. The bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature that suits the room.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Maris wall light take?
It takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 5W, which is not included, so you can pick your own. We would suggest a warm white LED at 2700K to 3000K for a soft, ambient glow, or a cooler daylight bulb if you want a crisper light.
Is it dimmable?
No. The Maris is not dimmable, so it runs at a fixed level. You can still set the mood by choosing a warm white G9 bulb, which gives a soft glow through the alabaster shade.
Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Maris is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor rooms only. Please keep it away from bathrooms, showers and any outdoor or damp locations.
Will the alabaster shade match the photos exactly?
Not exactly, and that is part of the appeal. Natural alabaster carries its own veining and tonal shifts from pale cream through amber to soft grey-brown, so each shade is a little different from the next.
