Mapa Globe Pendant Light - White & Opal Glass

The Mapa is a small spherical pendant that hangs a single acid-etched glass globe from a white metal ceiling cap on a slim steel cable. The light comes from a G9 lamp set inside the sphere, and the frosted opal glass wraps the source so it reads as a soft, evenly lit ball rather than a bright point. Lit, it gives a gentle glow in every direction; unlit, it sits as a plain white orb on a fine wire.

At 150mm across it is a compact globe, small enough to hang on its own over a bedside or a console, or to repeat as a cluster at staggered heights over a dining table, an island or a stairwell. The drop adjusts from 385mm to 2200mm, so the height can be set to the room, and the round opal form suits soft ambient light rather than a directed beam.

The ceiling cap and frame are metal in a white finish, with a steel suspension cable and an acid-etched white blown-glass sphere. A G9 lamp is included, so it lights the moment it is wired, and the bulb is replaceable when needed. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

What kind of light does the Mapa give?

A soft, even glow. The acid-etched opal glass sphere diffuses the G9 lamp so the whole globe lights up gently in all directions, which suits ambient and mood lighting rather than task light over a work surface.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes, a G9 lamp is included, so it works as soon as it is wired. The lamp is replaceable, so a warmer or brighter G9 can be fitted to suit the room.

Can I hang several together?

Yes. At only 150mm across with an adjustable 385mm to 2200mm drop, the Mapa is easy to group as a cluster at staggered heights over a table, an island or a stairwell, as well as hanging singly over a bedside or console.

Can it be dimmed?

There is no built-in dimmer, but because it uses a standard G9 lamp you can dim it by fitting a dimmable G9 bulb with a compatible wall dimmer.
