Description

Three glass baubles, each 8cm tall and 4cm across, and each a different shape: a pointed diamond, a stacked double bulb, and an onion drawn to a point below. All three are ribbed from cap to base, and the amber is mottled rather than even, darkening where the ribs turn away from the light. Each carries a dark metal cap and ring on a deep red velvet ribbon.

At 8cm tall and only 4cm across these hang long rather than round, so they drop clear of the branch and turn on the ribbon instead of resting against the foliage. Three different shapes in one colour read as a group rather than as a repeat.

The glass is recycled. Waste glass is collected and washed to remove impurities, then crushed and melted down before it is mouth blown, which is what leaves the mottling different on every bauble. The caps and rings are metal and the ties are velvet. Manipur runs in green, indigo and ruby as well as amber.
