Description
A wall shelf in brass-finished metal, 50cm wide and 15cm deep, with a rail under it for a towel. The shelf is a flat tray with a low lip along its front edge, a slim rail stands above the back on two short uprights, and below the front a rectangular frame drops down to carry the towel. The whole piece is made in flat square-section bar, and the shelf surface is bright enough to throw back what stands on it.
It mounts on the wall and it is suitable for bathroom use. At 50cm across, the shelf takes a row of bottles and jars rather than one or two, and the raised rail at the back stops anything working its way off behind. The lower rail runs the full 50cm, which is the width of a hand towel hung flat rather than folded over. The whole thing stands 14cm from the top of the back rail to the bottom of the towel rail, so it sits above a basin or beside a bath without taking much height.
The shelf and both rails are metal in a brass finish, with no glass or wood anywhere in the piece, and it weighs 1.4kg. The finish runs over every part of it, frame and shelf alike, so there is no shift in tone between the rails and the surface they hold. Wall fixings are chosen to suit the type of wall it is going on.
