Description

A pair of round-topped side tables that nest, the larger 54cm tall and 46cm across, the smaller 45cm tall and 36cm across. The tops are aluminium under an antique brass finish, mottled and uneven, so the tone shifts from gold through to a darker bronze across a single top. Each top sits on a frame of dark iron, its legs angled inward and crossed beneath, and the smaller table tucks under the larger.

These are end-of-sofa tables. The larger has a 46cm top, room for a lamp with a drink beside it; the smaller comes out from under it when a second surface is wanted. The pair stands beside a three-seater, the small table drawn forward and the large one taking the drinks. Apart, one can stand at each end of a sofa or beside an armchair, and together they take up little more floor than the larger on its own.

The tops are aluminium and the frames are iron. The unevenness in the patina is deliberate, so no two tops are alike and the two in this set differ from one another. The Maba range also runs to a coffee table, 42cm tall and 72cm across.
