Description
The LYYT Wide Crown is a 24mm surface-mount aluminium LED profile with a frosted crown diffuser, supplied in a 2m length. The aluminium channel measures 24mm wide by 11mm tall externally, with a 20mm x 7mm internal recess that accepts LED tape up to 20mm wide. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser sits proud of the channel edges in a gentle crown shape, diffusing the individual LED points into a continuous line of light.
Designed for kitchen under-cabinet runs, floating shelves, wardrobes, display cabinets and architectural feature lighting, the profile mounts directly onto flat surfaces using the included metal fixing clips. The 2m length can be cut to size on site and joined end-to-end with additional profiles to create longer continuous runs. The frosted diffuser reduces glare and hotspots compared to bare LED tape, making it suitable for installations where the profile is visible from eye level.
The aluminium body provides a heatsink for the LED tape, improving thermal management and extending LED lifespan compared to tape mounted directly onto wood or plasterboard. The neutral anodised aluminium finish pairs with white, grey, black and natural wood interiors without clashing. Each 2m section is supplied with end caps and fixing clips as standard, ready for installation with compatible LED tape sold separately.

Frequently Asked
What width LED tape does it accept?
The internal channel measures 20mm wide by 7mm deep, so it accepts LED tape up to 20mm wide. Most standard 12V and 24V LED tape strips measuring 8mm, 10mm or 12mm wide fit comfortably with room for cable routing.
Can the profile be cut to length?
Yes. The 2m aluminium channel can be cut to any length using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a fine-tooth blade. Cut the diffuser separately using a fine-tooth saw or sharp knife to avoid cracking the polycarbonate.
Is the LED tape included?
No. The profile is supplied with the aluminium channel, frosted diffuser, end caps and fixing clips only. LED tape, drivers and cables are sold separately and chosen based on your required brightness, colour temperature and run length.
How is it fixed to the surface?
The profile uses metal fixing clips that screw into the mounting surface at intervals along the run, typically every 400-500mm. The aluminium channel then clips into these brackets. The clips are included with each 2m section.
