Description

The LYYT in-line RGBW LED strip amplifier extends low-voltage RGBW LED tape runs by boosting the signal and power across four independent channels (red, green, blue, white). Operating on 5-24V DC input, the amplifier accepts a 5-pin RGBW signal and outputs the same signal with a maximum current capacity of 4A per channel, allowing up to 16A total across all four colours.

Designed for professional LED tape installations where the tape run exceeds the controller's direct output capacity, the amplifier prevents voltage drop and colour fade over longer distances. Common applications include under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting, architectural accent runs and hospitality installations where consistent brightness across multiple metres is required. The bare wire input and output connections allow installers to wire directly into the tape circuit without bulky connectors.

The 135 x 15 x 5mm grey plastic housing weighs 6g and fits within restricted spaces behind coving, inside cabinetry and within ceiling voids. The 90mm wire tails at input and output provide sufficient length to strip and terminate cleanly. The amplifier works with any 5-24V RGBW controller and is often paired with AVSL's own 156.772UK 24V RGBW LED tape, though it's compatible with other manufacturers' tape provided the voltage and pinout match.

Specification
Input 5-pin RGBW
Output 5-pin RGBW
Current max. 4 x 4A
Wire length 90mm
Dimensions 135 x 15 x 5mm
Weight 6g
Frequently Asked

When do I need an LED strip amplifier?

An amplifier is needed when the LED tape run exceeds the maximum length your controller can drive directly, or when you notice dimming or colour shift at the far end of the tape. The amplifier re-boosts the signal and power at the point where voltage drop would otherwise occur.

What voltage LED tape does this support?

The amplifier works with any 5-24V DC RGBW LED tape. Match the input voltage to your power supply and controller output—if you're running 24V tape, provide 24V DC to the amplifier input.

How is it wired into the circuit?

The amplifier sits in-line between the controller and the second section of tape. The input wires connect to the controller output (or the end of the first tape section), and the output wires connect to the start of the next tape section. Both input and output are bare wire, so you'll need to strip and terminate correctly with insulated connectors or solder joints.

Can I use multiple amplifiers on one run?

Yes. For very long tape runs, you can chain multiple amplifiers at intervals to maintain consistent brightness and colour across the entire length. Each amplifier needs to be fed with the same voltage as the tape it's boosting.
