Description

The LYYT LED Battery Topiary Ball Light is a 9.5m string of 120 warm white LEDs spaced at 80mm intervals on a black cable, powered by three AA batteries housed in an IP44-rated weatherproof battery box. The LEDs provide a warm white glow at approximately 3000K colour temperature, designed to wrap around artificial topiary balls, garden features, or to be draped as decorative accent lighting.

Suitable for outdoor patios, garden trees, balconies, and indoor mantelpieces or stair rails, the IP44 rating on the battery box means it can handle light rain and outdoor condensation without damage. The eight pre-set lighting modes include constant on, slow fade, twinkle, and sequential flash options, controlled by a button on the battery box. A built-in timer runs on a 6-hour-on, 18-hour-off cycle, automatically switching the lights on each evening at the same time once activated.

The total cable length including the lead from the battery box to the first LED is 10.5m, and the fitting weighs 232g. Battery life depends on the selected mode and battery quality, with constant-on mode typically providing 48-72 hours of continuous run time on alkaline AA batteries. How long do the batteries last?

Battery life depends on the lighting mode selected and the quality of the AA batteries used. On constant-on mode, alkaline AA batteries typically provide 48-72 hours of continuous run time. Using the timer function (6 hours on, 18 hours off) extends this to approximately 8-12 days per set of batteries.

Can the battery box be left outside in rain?

The battery box carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against splashing water from any direction and small solid objects. It can handle light rain, drizzle and outdoor condensation, but should not be left in standing water or heavy downpours. For prolonged outdoor use, position the battery box under a slight overhang or shelter.

What are the eight lighting modes?

The eight modes include constant on, slow fade in and out, twinkle/flash, waves, sequential, slow glow, chasing/flashing, and combination. Cycle through the modes by pressing the button on the battery box until you reach the desired effect.

How is the timer function activated?

Press and hold the timer button on the battery box for 2-3 seconds. Once activated, the lights will run for 6 hours, then automatically turn off for 18 hours. They will turn back on at the same time the following day without any further action required. The timer cycle continues until the batteries are removed or the timer is manually deactivated.
