Description

A square side table, 57cm high and 40cm each way, built as an open cube of slim iron bar under a brass plating. A clear glass panel sits in the top of the frame. Two thirds of the way down, a shallow tray of mango wood with a woven cane panel in its base rests on the rails, and below that the frame is left open to a bottom rail running close to the floor.

At 40cm square the top takes a lamp, a glass and a book without crowding, and because it is glass the tray below stays in view through it. The tray is where the smaller things go, which is what keeps the top clear. The frame is open on all four sides, so nothing is hidden behind a panel. It stands between an armchair and a wall.

The frame is iron with a brass plating and the top is clear glass. The tray is mango wood with a cane panel woven into its base, and it lifts straight out of the frame, so what is in it can be carried off and brought back. At 12kg the table is heavier than it looks for its size. Luzon also runs to a coffee table and a console table built the same way.

Clean the glass with a glass cleaner or warm soapy water and the metal with a damp cloth, then dry and polish with a soft cloth that is not abrasive. Keep abrasives and harsh chemicals off both.
