Description

The Lucerne is a 6-light chandelier built on a brushed nickel frame with six tapered grey fabric shades arranged in two tiers around a central column. Each shade houses an E14 bulb (sold separately, max 25W each), and the chandelier spans 678mm across with a minimum drop of 544mm from ceiling to base, adjustable to 1280mm during installation using the 700mm chain.

Designed for dining rooms with tables seating 6-8 people, or living rooms of 20-30m² where overhead lighting anchors the space, the Lucerne provides both ambient and decorative function. The chandelier sits 600-750mm above a dining table surface when adjusted for a standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling height, leaving enough headroom while keeping the shades visible as a design element. The two-tier arrangement directs light both downward and outward through the fabric diffusers.

The brushed nickel finish is a mid-tone grey-silver with a satin texture that reduces glare and pairs with both cool-toned and warm-toned interiors. The grey fabric shades soften the light output and echo the metal finish, creating a cohesive palette. The frame uses hollow tubular metal construction to keep the weight manageable despite the 678mm span, and the chain suspension conceals the cable run from the ceiling rose.

What bulbs does the Lucerne take?

The chandelier takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 25W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K for dining room use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 544mm plus the 445mm chandelier height totals 989mm from ceiling to base. For a dining table installation where the chandelier sits 700-750mm above the surface, a ceiling height of 2.4m or above is recommended. The chain is adjustable on installation to suit different ceiling heights.

Can the shades be replaced?

The grey fabric shades are held by friction clips on the E14 lamp holders and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. Contact Elstead Lighting directly for replacement shades if needed.

Is the chandelier suitable for low ceilings?

At 544mm minimum drop, the Lucerne sits lower than many multi-tier chandeliers but is still designed for standard or higher ceiling heights. Rooms with 2.4m ceilings can accommodate it over a dining table, but rooms below 2.3m may find the chandelier too dominant for the vertical space available.
