Looping LED Suspension Light 54W 3000K - Matt Black

The Looping is a 97cm LED suspension light built around two nested metal rings in matt black, each wrapped with an opal silicone diffuser that conceals an integrated LED strip. The rings sit at different angles, creating an orbital composition where one larger ring (outer diameter ~97cm) appears to loop through a smaller inner ring. The integrated 54W LED runs at 3000K warm white and casts diffused light in all directions through the opal silicone.

Designed for open-plan living spaces, dining areas above round or rectangular tables, and double-height entrance halls or stairwells, the Looping provides ambient light rather than task illumination. The adjustable height ranges from 75cm to 130cm below the ceiling rose, allowing the pendant to be set according to ceiling height and the position of furniture beneath. Gravity toggles are included for secure mounting, and the black canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The matt black finish is sandblasted rather than powder-coated, giving the metal a low-sheen surface that reduces reflections under daylight. The opal silicone diffuser is flexible and durable, withstanding temperature fluctuations from the LED without yellowing or becoming brittle. At 3.8kg total weight, the pendant has enough mass to hang steadily without swaying but does not require structural ceiling reinforcement in properties built to UK Building Regulations.

The Looping carries an IP20 rating, making it suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not compatible with bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor covered areas. The integrated LED is non-replaceable, but the 54W total power draw at 50,000+ hour LED lifespan means the fitting should operate for 15-20 years under typical residential use (3-4 hours per day) before the LED output degrades noticeably.

Is the Looping dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 54W on 220-240V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with the Schuller driver.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 75cm to 130cm below the ceiling rose. For dining tables, the pendant typically sits 70-90cm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 97cm ring diameter also needs clearance from walls and furniture.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

The LED is integrated into the ring structure and is not user-replaceable. However, the rated lifespan at 54W output is typically 50,000+ hours, which equates to 15-20 years of use at 3-4 hours per day before noticeable degradation occurs.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or covered outdoor areas?

No. The IP20 rating means the Looping is for dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor installations, even under cover.
