Description

The Lola is a recessed LED downlight in a Brushed Bronze finish: a slim cylindrical head on a short stem, beneath a round canopy that recesses into the ceiling. The head is 5.2cm across and 20.3cm long, and the canopy is 8cm across and 8.2cm tall. Its light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 18W and gives 1995 lumens through a 24° beam, a fairly narrow cone that lights a defined area below rather than washing the whole room. We sell it in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K, and its CRI of 85 gives good colour rendering.

We would put the Lola in a kitchen: a row of them over an island, one or two above a kitchen table, or a line along a run of cupboards, where the tight beam picks out the surface beneath each one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor fitting. It suits anyone who wants a downlight with more presence than a flush spot, because the bronze head drops below the ceiling and reads as a fitting in its own right. Choose 2700K for a warm, relaxed glow in the evening, or 3000K for a slightly crisper white while you cook.

It is dimmable by DALI or push, so it can work with either kind of control. The Lola is a mains fitting, wired in, and it is for a qualified electrician to install; it needs a 6.5cm cut-out in the ceiling. The Brushed Bronze finish has a fine brushed grain that runs the length of the head and catches the light softly, and the LED sits well back inside the dark mouth of the head. When you order, choose the same colour temperature for every downlight in the room, so the light matches from one fitting to the next.
