Description

The Linetta is a white floor lamp made from two plain parts that suit each other well: a terracotta base and a tall, cylindrical linen shade. It stands 113cm tall and 28cm across, and the shade measures 28cm by 28cm by 65cm, so the whole lamp reads as one slim column. The base has a bottle shape, its rounded body stepping in at the shoulder to a narrower neck, and fine horizontal lines run around the terracotta so the surface has texture rather than a flat, even finish.

Because the shade is so tall and narrow, it suits a living room where floor space is tight: beside a sofa, next to a side table or in the gap by a window. Linen lets light through softly, so with a bulb in place the shade glows along its full height, giving a gentle light for evenings. It takes an E27 bulb, up to 40W incandescent, 6W LED or 9W CFL, and the bulb is not included. The 200cm clear cable carries a foot switch, so you can turn it on and off without reaching down to the lamp. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

It is made from terracotta, linen, polystyrene and iron, and a short metal stem joins the neck of the base to the shade.
