Description
The Lincea is a rectangular LED batten light running 15 to 24W from a 220-240V AC supply, delivering up to 2600 lumens across a wide 140 degree spread. Known in the US as a shop light or wraparound light, it gives a broad, even wash rather than a focused beam, which suits long runs of practical lighting. Colour temperature is selectable between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K, so the same fitting can sit warm in a domestic space or run cool and bright over a workbench. Colour rendering is rated Ra 80, enough to keep colours reading naturally under task conditions.
At its higher output the Lincea covers around 8 to 9 m² at general lighting levels, making it a sensible choice for garages, workshops, utility rooms, store cupboards and under-shelf areas. The 700mm body fits neatly along a beam, joist or shelf edge, and the broad 140 degree beam means a single unit lights a working area without harsh pools or shadows. With an IP40 rating it is splash-resistant and suited to sheltered positions, so it can be used in covered porches, carports and bathroom zones away from direct water, though it should be kept clear of fully exposed locations and direct water jets.
Built with a steel body and a white finish, the Lincea weighs 860g and measures 700 by 168 by 57mm. It carries an IK08 impact rating for knock resistance in busy work areas and runs direct from mains with no separate driver to specify. Mounting is by wall or ceiling, fixing flat against the surface, and the integrated LEDs are rated for 30,000 hours of service. This model is not dimmable. The Lincea sits within a wider range of battens at differing wattages and outputs to suit various run lengths.

Frequently Asked
Where is this batten typically used?
The Lincea is well suited to garages, workshops, utility rooms, store cupboards and car ports where a broad, even light is needed over a working area. Its 140 degree beam and output of up to 2600 lumens make it a practical choice for general task lighting. The white steel body keeps it discreet against a ceiling or wall.
Is it weatherproof enough for outdoor use?
It carries an IP40 rating, which is splash-resistant and suited to sheltered and covered positions such as a porch or carport, as well as bathroom zones away from direct water. It is not designed for fully exposed outdoor locations, direct water jets or submersion. Keep it under cover where it cannot take direct weather.
Can it be linked together in a run?
Battens like the Lincea are often installed end to end along a beam or joist to light a longer space evenly. Each 700mm unit can be positioned in sequence and wired from the same mains circuit. Check the fitting's terminal arrangement before planning a continuous run.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the white steel body and diffuser with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, with the power switched off and the fitting cool. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners, which can mark the finish. The integrated LEDs are rated for 30,000 hours, so there are no bulbs to replace.
