Description

Lill is a woven storage basket with a lid, shaped as a smiling face with its hair gathered into two bunches. The hair and the lid are woven in brown, while the face is worked in a lighter weave with painted eyes, cheeks and a gentle smile, and each bunch is tied with a wrapped band at the side. It is made from Bankuan grass, wicker and iron, and it measures 62cm long, 40.5cm wide and 44cm tall: a generous size that swallows a proper armful of toys rather than just a handful of odds and ends.

We see it most at home in a child's bedroom or playroom, where it gives soft toys, building blocks and dressing-up clothes a place to go at the end of the day. The lid sits on top as the crown of the head, so once everything is inside, the floor looks clear and the room keeps a friendly face rather than a stack of plastic tubs.
