Description

We stock the Lens as a compact surface-mounted LED ceiling light for rooms where recessed downlights will not fit. It is built around a cylindrical white aluminium housing measuring 75mm across, with an integrated 15W LED inside giving 1070 lumens of warm white (3000K) light through a 70 degree beam. There is no separate bulb to buy and no driver box to hide, so the fitting mounts straight to the ceiling.

Because it surface mounts, the Lens needs no cutting and no void above the ceiling, which makes it a straightforward choice for solid concrete ceilings, period properties and retrofit jobs where a recessed fitting is not practical. Its IP44 rating means we can specify it for bathrooms outside the direct shower zone, and for covered outdoor spots such as porches and carports. The white finish sits cleanly against white or light-toned ceilings in modern interiors.

The LED carries a 90 CRI rating, so colours look truer than they do under a standard 80 CRI downlight, which helps in kitchens, bathrooms and dressing areas where getting colour right matters. It runs on standard 220-240V AC 50Hz mains, is rated Energy Class G and is not dimmable. The housing is aluminium and the module is fixed, so the light is ready to wire in as supplied.

Do I need to cut a hole in the ceiling to fit it?

No. This is a surface-mounted fitting, so it sits on the ceiling and wires into a junction box. There is no cutting and no void needed above the ceiling, which suits solid or concrete ceilings and retrofit work.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable, so we would pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

Yes, within reason. It is rated IP44, so it is suited to bathroom areas outside the direct shower zone, as well as covered outdoor spots like porches and carports.

Does it need a separate bulb or driver?
