Description

These are six stoneware bowls in green, each 12cm across and 6.5cm tall and holding 400ml. That makes them a proper everyday bowl rather than a little dip dish: room for a breakfast of cereal or porridge, a portion of soup, or fruit and yoghurt. The sides are fluted from foot to rim, with fine vertical ribs that catch the light, and a glossy glaze coats both the inside and the outside of the bowl. Stoneware is dense and hard wearing once fired, which is why it suits pieces handled every day.

With six of them there are enough for a family breakfast or a supper with friends. Set them out at the kitchen table for weekday cereal, or bring them to the dining table for soup, a side of rice, olives or a pudding.
