Description

A five-pointed star built from clear glass panels soldered into a brass frame, 30cm across and 7cm deep, hanging from a coiled wire at one point. The frame holds a tealight inside the body of the star. The solder is left showing along every join, so the brass lines read as a drawing laid over the glass.

Lit, the flame sits behind glass and throws the lines of the frame outward, which is why it is made to hang rather than stand. It wants a hook clear of anything that could catch, and room to turn. At 30cm across this is the larger of the two sizes.

The panels are glass and the frame is brass. The metal is soldered around the glass with hand tools, and the weld marks left along the joins are part of how it is made rather than a flaw in it. A smaller star runs at 20cm across. The tealight is not included.
