Description

The Knightsbridge Large Cage Pendant is a 175mm geometric wireframe shade in matt black steel, designed to house a separate E27 lamp holder and bulb (both sold separately). The open cage construction frames the bulb rather than concealing it, making this shade best suited to filament-style LED or vintage Edison bulbs where the bulb itself forms part of the visual composition.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms and commercial hospitality settings, the cage works as a single pendant over a small dining table or breakfast bar, or as a row of three or five pendants along a kitchen island. The 170mm diameter gives enough presence without overwhelming smaller rooms, while the open wireframe means the shade does not block sightlines or reduce ceiling height visually. The shade pairs with Knightsbridge's separate decorative lamp holders including the 8271xx, TRK8271xx and CALLA Vintage ranges.

The matt black finish is applied to steel wire bent and welded into a faceted geometric form with twelve triangular panels forming the cage body. The low-sheen black minimises reflections and sits comfortably in both industrial schemes (exposed brick, concrete, reclaimed timber) and contemporary monochrome interiors (white walls, grey floors, black fixtures). The 150mm width at the widest point gives the cage a compact footprint that works in tighter spaces where a full 300mm dome shade would overpower the room.

The cage is a shade only. It requires a separate E27 lamp holder (such as Knightsbridge 8271xx, TRK8271xx or CALLA Vintage models) and a bulb. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED filament bulb in 2200K-2700K to show the bulb filament through the wireframe.

Can multiple pendants be hung together?
