Description

A hanging rail made from iron: a straight round bar 90cm long, carried on a flat wall plate at each end. Each plate stands 10cm high and is drilled for two screws, and the bar is held 7cm clear of the wall. The iron is left rustic rather than smoothed down, so the surface is uneven along the bar and darker where the metal has been drawn out.

At 90cm it takes a run of utensils, boards or pans along a kitchen wall, or towels along a bathroom one, and the 7cm clearance leaves room for a hook to swing on it. Two rails mount one above the other, and S-hooks along them take boards, small tools or an apron. The hooks are not included.

The rail is iron, handmade by makers in Rajasthan. Every one is worked by hand, so the surface takes the light differently from one rail to the next. It is made for indoor use. The same rail is made at 120cm, and in brass in both lengths.
