Description

A hanging rail 120cm long, made from a single iron bar carried on a bracket at each end. Each bracket is a flat plate drilled with four countersunk holes, with a stout stem that runs out from the wall and turns to take the bar. The iron is left raw and dark, with the mill surface still showing across the plates, and the bar sits 7cm out from the wall.

Hung above a worktop the rail takes S hooks, and from those boards, pans, utensils or an apron. In a kitchen it carries chopping boards, a tray and an apron. At 120cm it spans a worktop run, and at 7cm out from the wall it does not stand into the room. It is for indoor use.

The rail is iron, made by hand in Rajasthan. The surface is left raw, so it darkens with handling and no two rails weather the same way. The Laila range also runs to iron S hooks, sold separately, which hang over the bar, and to a shorter rail at 90cm.
