Description

A set of four S-hooks made from iron and finished in brass. Each one is 10.5cm tall and 7cm across, bent from round bar three quarters of a centimetre thick, with the upper curve turned tighter than the lower one and both tips tapered to a flat. The brass sits unevenly over the iron, so every hook carries its own pattern of darker and lighter patches.

The hooks have no back plate and no screw hole, so they hang over something rather than fix to it. All four hang along an iron rail, and each takes a chopping board by the hole in the handle or a bunch of herbs tied at the stem. One will go over the lip of a shelf, a pan rail or a rod in a wardrobe just as well. The Laila iron hanging rails are made to take them.

The hooks are iron under a brass finish, made by hand, so the thickness of the bar and the set of the curve vary a little from one to the next. Four come in a set. A rail is not included.
