Description

The Lacey is a 508mm drum pendant light from Kichler with a double-shade configuration: an outer layer of sheer organza fabric wrapped around an inner opal glass diffuser. Four E27 bulbs inside the drum (sold separately) cast light through both layers, creating a soft, layered glow that diffuses evenly into the room. The brushed nickel metalwork includes a flared central column and ceiling canopy connected by an adjustable chain.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands and larger hallways where a pendant needs to provide ambient light across a 3-4m span, the Lacey sits 698mm below the ceiling at minimum drop or extends to 2564mm maximum using the full 1829mm chain length. The 508mm diameter works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, typically positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or 1800-2000mm above floor level in an entrance hall. The chain is adjustable on installation and conceals the cable run.

The brushed nickel finish on the metalwork provides a cooler-toned alternative to brass or bronze pendants, pairing with stainless steel appliances, chrome fixtures and cooler greys in contemporary and transitional interiors. The organza outer shade adds a textile texture that softens the overall appearance, while the opal glass inner prevents glare from the four bare bulbs. Combined, the two shades turn the drum into a diffuser rather than a direct light source, making the Lacey suitable for positions where eye-level view of the pendant is common.

What bulbs does the Lacey take?

The pendant takes four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to match the soft diffusion of the double shade.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The chain length is adjustable on installation only. The pendant ships with 1829mm of chain, allowing a minimum drop of 698mm or maximum of 2564mm. Once the chain is cut and the pendant is wired, the height is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and re-installed.

Is the organza shade removable for cleaning?

The organza outer shade is typically fixed to the drum frame. For cleaning, use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low power, or a lint roller to remove dust. The opal glass inner can usually be accessed by removing the base cap of the drum.

What ceiling height works best?

The 508mm diameter and 698mm minimum drop suit rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For dining tables, position the pendant 700-900mm above the table surface. For entrance halls or living rooms, hang it 1800-2000mm above floor level to keep the base of the shade above typical head height.
