Kunjari Large Glass Tealight Holder - Rustic Gold

The larger Kunjari is a straight-sided glass cylinder 15cm tall and 12.5cm across, with a rounded lip at the rim and a flat base. A metallic finish is laid over the glass and broken across the whole of it: pale champagne where it lies thick, warm brown and grey where it thins, with speckles and vertical streaks running down the wall. The finish carries over the inside face as well as the outside.

Twelve and a half centimetres across leaves a wide floor for a tealight with 15cm of wall standing above it, so the flame sits deep inside the glass and very little of it is visible across a room. What carries is the glow coming through the speckled finish rather than the flame itself. That suits a mantelpiece, a shelf or a side table, and it stands beside the small Kunjari as a stepped pair.

The glass is recycled: it is gathered and washed first, then melted down and shaped. The colour is in the finish rather than in the glass, so it lies differently on every holder and the speckling never falls twice in the same places. Kunjari also runs at 10cm tall and 8cm across. The tealight is not included.

How do I look after it?

Do not wash the outside. A dry cloth only. Position the tealight securely and keep the flame clear of the glass. It gets hot in use, so keep it out of reach of children, wait until it has cooled fully before handling it, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
