Description

A row of three hooks on a flat iron bar 23cm long, finished in antique brass. Each hook is bolted through the bar with a round head showing on the face, then falls as a flat tapered arm and curls forward and back on itself into a closed loop. A screw hole sits at either end of the bar. The brass is mottled and uneven over the whole piece, with the marks of the tools still in the metal.

The bar is 23cm long and the hooks stand 6cm out from the wall. Three on that length sits them close together, which makes this a rail for a coat and a bag by a back door rather than a family row in a hall. The closed loop at the end of each hook keeps a strap or a hanger from slipping off sideways. Indoor use only.

The hooks and the bar are iron under an antique brass finish. The finish is rustic rather than an even plate, so the tone shifts along the bar and the pitting falls differently on every one. The rail weighs 0.41kg. The same hooks are made on a longer bar.
