Description

The same iron plate and hook as the plain Kotta, with a five-point star standing up from it. The star brings the whole piece to 21cm tall on a plate 12.5cm by 10cm, and the star itself is faceted rather than flat, so each point catches the light on one face and goes dark on the next. It weighs 1.76kg.

One point seven six kilograms is the point of it: the plate sits on the mantel, the hook drops over the front, and nothing is fixed into the shelf. Set on a mantel the star stands clear above the line of the wood, so it reads as a decoration whether or not a stocking is hanging from it.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish, cast and finished by hand, so the facets and the patina come out differently on every one. A plain Kotta holder and one with a tree are made alongside it. The stocking is not included.
