Description

A stocking holder cast in iron: a flat plate 12cm by 14cm that sits on top of a mantel, with a hook that drops down over the front edge. It is 4.5cm from the top of the plate to the underside of the hook. The surface is left rough rather than polished, and the antique brass finish sits unevenly across it.

At 1.1kg the holder is the anchor: the weight sits on the shelf and the stocking hangs off the front, so nothing is screwed into the mantel and nothing is taped to it. Two of them, one at each end, frame a fireplace.

The metal is iron under an antique brass finish, cast and finished by hand so no two are identical. A Kotta holder with a star and one with a tree are made alongside it. The stocking is not included.
