Description

A Christmas tree blown in recycled glass, 20cm tall and 10cm across the base: three conical tiers stacked one on the next under a small pointed cone, all of it standing on a short cylindrical foot. The gold is mottled rather than flat, heaviest across the lowest tier, and a darker band runs round every join where one tier meets the next.

Twenty centimetres and 1.2kg make this the size that stands on its own rather than needing a group around it, and the 10cm base is broad enough that it does not want steadying. The crackle only reads when light comes from behind or from the side, because the web is inside the glass and not on it. It stands beside the 15cm Konara, the two making a stepped pair.

The glass is recycled and each tree is blown by hand, so the tiers step at slightly different intervals and the mottling settles its own way on every one. Konara carries this tree at 15cm as well, and the same gold crackle appears on a set of four baubles and on a giant bauble in two sizes.
