Description

Four round baubles, each 8cm across, blown from recycled glass and finished with a metal foil that crackles as it sets, so the surface is a web of fine breaks rather than a smooth plate of gold. The tone is pale, closer to champagne than to yellow. Each carries an antique brass clasp at the top with a tie through it.

Eight centimetres is large enough to read on its own rather than needing a cluster, and the crackle is what it does under a light: instead of one highlight it gives a scatter of them across the whole surface. At 0.27kg the four together are light for their size.

The glass is recycled: waste glass collected, washed, crushed and melted down before it is mouth-blown, which is where the irregular mottling underneath the foil comes from. Four are supplied. Konara is also made as a giant bauble in two sizes and as a glass tree.
