Description
The Knightsbridge TE1 is an IP64-rated CAT III 690V/CAT IV 600V 2-pole voltage tester with both LED and LCD display, built for voltage indication, phase rotation testing, polarity indication and continuity testing across 12-690V AC/DC ranges. The dual-display design gives instant visual LED feedback for live circuits alongside digital LCD readouts for precise voltage measurement.
Designed for electricians, electrical engineers and maintenance technicians working on domestic, commercial and light industrial installations, the tester meets EN 61243-3, EN 61010-1 and EN 61010-2-33 certification standards. The IP64 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes, allowing use in outdoor electrical cabinets, basement plant rooms and wet environments. Auto power-on activates the tester when voltage is detected, while auto power-off conserves the two AAA batteries (not included) after periods of inactivity.
The blue polycarbonate body measures 255mm long by 61mm wide by 33.5mm deep, with a black textured grip section along the lower half for secure handling when working on live circuits. Both test probes are fitted with removable protective covers that guard the probe tips during transport and storage. A built-in LED torch at the base of the unit provides hands-free illumination when working in poorly-lit consumer units or distribution boards. The self-diagnostic test function runs a check sequence on startup to confirm the tester is functioning correctly before use.

Frequently Asked
What voltage range does it cover?
The tester operates across 12-690V AC/DC. It is rated CAT III 690V and CAT IV 600V, making it suitable for testing circuits in domestic consumer units, commercial distribution boards and light industrial control panels.
What batteries does it require?
The unit requires 2 x AAA batteries, which are not included. The auto power-on and auto power-off functions reduce battery drain by activating the tester only when voltage is detected and switching off after inactivity.
What tests can it perform?
The TE1 performs voltage indication, phase rotation testing, polarity indication and continuity testing. The self-diagnostic test function confirms the unit is working correctly before use.
Is it weatherproof?
The IP64 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes, allowing outdoor use in electrical cabinets and damp environments. It is not submersible or rated for continuous exposure to heavy rain.
